GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Full-time, Assistant Professor position, in BFA program, begins August 2009.

Qualifications:

Advanced degree or equivalent professional experience. Expertise in design theory and applications for screen-based graphic design with fluency in bridging the approaches of traditional two-dimensional and digital mediums. Knowledge of the demands of the professional field, historical and contemporary design issues, and technologies inherent to the discipline, strong collaborative and communication skills. Current professional activity in graphic design and previous college-level teaching experience are preferred.

Responsibilities:

Teach all levels of undergraduate graphic design within the systemic analysis of formal design principles including: interactive design, emerging technologies and information architecture. Participate in on-going curriculum development, community service, and student advising. Maintain active creative professional practice.
