FACULTY POSITIONS ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF DESIGN Full-time, Assistant Professor position in a BFA program. Qualifications: Advanced degree or equivalent professional experience. Previous college-level teaching experience and professional activity in Design are strongly preferred. Memphis College of Art has an internationally recognized, theoretically rigorous, experimental Design department. We seek to complement and expand beyond our existing print-based course of study. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop curriculum and assist in establishing a new undergraduate major in Design. The program is particularly interested in designers with a strong background in emerging practice areas, which may include: User Experience Design, Information Architecture, and Interaction Design. Additionally, the individual must be proficient in presenting the department’s coursework with the application of all of the Adobe Creative Suite, and the industry standard technologies of the candidate’s specialty. The position also requires participation in: on-going curriculum development; community service; student advising; and maintaining an active creative output, consistent with the mission of a professional art school.
