Nona Bolin has presented papers at professional conferences in Europe, Turkey, Japan, Korea, India and Hawaii in areas such as Philosophy of Art, Asian Philosophy, Environmental Ethics and Women's Studies. She has participated in conferences at the Memphis Civil Rights Museum and was a musical advisor for an award-winning documentary on Memphis.

She is an active member of the American Philosophical Association and a former board member of the Society of Asian and Comparative Philosophy. She has twice been awarded the Instructor of the Year award presented by the MCA student body.
