Jennifer GonzalesInstructor Art Education BA, Humboldt State University MA, University of Phoenix Jennifer Gonzales is an instructor at Memphis College of Art specializing in Diversity coursework for graduate students in Art Education. Her six years of experience as a RISE Project Site Consultant dealing with inclusive classroom and best practices, and several years of teaching on Indian reservations have provided her with unique experiences that provide graduate students with a more in-depth understanding of K-12 students with special needs and diverse populations.
Ms Gonzales has been an active proponent of special needs, arts and general education. She has made numerous presentations on these topics at conferences and to various agencies. Currently serving as the Coordinator of Art Education Programs and student Advisor in Art Education at Memphis College of Art, her responsibilities have included helping development two new graduate programs for art educators which include a Master of Art in Art Education, a Master of Teaching, Transitional Licensure, Add-On Endorsement Programs and coordinating the PAIDEIA Project, a $75,000.00 Tennessee Higher Education Grant for Teacher Professional Development.
Jennifer is an active artist currently working with Nathaniel Hein as a part of Go.Hein and has exhibited works in local, state and national venues. She also serves on the Board of Number Inc. which publishes Number, a regional arts journal. jgonzales@mca.edu / 901-272-5165
