Joel Priddy Assistant Professor Design Arts BFA, Virginia Commonwealth University MFA, School of Visual Arts Joel Priddy is an illustrator and cartoonist. His first book, Pulpatoon: Pilgrimage, won an Ignatz Award for Outstanding Debut in 2002 and was nominated for an Eisner as the year's best graphic novel. His first pamphlet-style comic, The Presposterous Adventures of Ironhide Tom, was nominated for an Eisner as the year’s best single issue and his short story, The Amazing Life of Onion Jack, was included in Houghton Mifflin’s The Best American Comics of 2006.
His most recent book, an adaptation of O Henry’s Gift of the Magi, will be released this November, 2009, from Harper Collins.
