One Million Dollar Ted Rust Scholarship Fund
 
As we soar into our 75th year of providing the highest quality education to the creative class, riding high on our successes in recent years, we have developed a new Ted Rust Scholarship Fund initiative dedicated to providing accessible education to every admitted student, including those in need of substantial scholarships. Director Emeritus Edwin C. "Ted" Rust shaped MCA. The internationally renowned sculptor and local visionary led the College from 1949 to 1975. As the Director of the Memphis Academy of Arts for a quarter-century, Ted was instrumental in the College's modernization. He brought regional accreditation and national recognition to the College, while remaining a working artist, famous for his bronze and plaster portraits.
 
A lifelong champion of students, Ted left his estate to the College he loved, and that bequest is funding College scholarships.  The Ted Rust Scholarship Fund has been designed to support current students and prepare future artists and designers. To carry on his philanthropy, MCA's goal is to raise $1 million for scholarships this year.
