National Portfolio Day

MCA hosts National Portfolio Day in New Orleans Saturday, January 15, 2011 from noon to 4 pm at the Four Points by Sheraton New Orleans Airport Hotel, located at 6401 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Metairie. Registration begins at 11 am.

National Portfolio Day is a great opportunity for students interested in pursuing a visual arts education. College representatives from leading art colleges accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) review and critique student work, provide information about their colleges and assist prospective students in developing their college plans. Students should bring their portfolios, which may include finished pieces as well as works in progress and sketchbooks.

Representatives from the following colleges will be in attendance: Cleveland Institute of Art, Columbus College of Art & Design, Cooper Union School of Art, Kansas City Art Institute, Kendall College of Art & Design of Ferris State University, Maryland Institute College of Art, Memphis College of Art, Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, Moore College of Art & Design, New Hampshire Institute of Art, Parsons The New School for Design, Ringling College of Art and Design, San Francisco Art Institute, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, School of Visual Arts and Watkins College of Art & Design.

Memphis College of Art is the only college of to host three Portfolio Days annually, in Memphis, TN; New Orleans, LA; and in Charlotte, NC.
