Legacy:

Memphis College of Art Community Education has been a vital part of Memphis for over 70 years. The College was founded to serve as a visual art education resource in the community. We have taken this mandate to heart, continually bringing the joy of art making to a community of lifelong learners.

As the only regional source of art education for many decades, we remain the most experienced and the best. Today we are the only fully accredited professional art and design institution in the region to offer community art education. Our professional facilities and expert instructors provide the highest quality art instruction available.

The Community Education Department has grown and changed over the years to meet your needs. Innovative courses as well as visual arts classics comprise our offerings. We serve all types of learners from age 5 to adult. From Summer Art Camp to Saturday School, evening classes for adults to weekend workshops, Memphis College of Art excels at meeting the art education needs of Memphis and the Mid-South.
